Peer Response to Kaede
After reading Kaede’s blog post on open pedagogies, it made me think about how openness could strengthen cooperative and inquiry-based learning when addressing AI misconceptions. I liked how learner agency was highlighted and how it connects to inquiry-based learning, especially when learners are encouraged to ask questions, investigate, and share their results instead of just submitting their work for a grade. I also appreciated the reminder that openness is not neutral and that when learners are exploring more complex topics like AI, publicly sharing can feel meaningful, but may also create pressure or uncertainty around being “wrong”. Cooperative learning could further support this aspect of open pedagogies. Cooperative learning strategies, such as shared goals and individual responsibility, could encourage learners to feel safer participating in open environments. I believe a mix of these learning strategies can create a safe learning environment for learners to interact with one another, while challenging misconceptions.
Thanks for sharing Kaede!
